Assam: 10 coronavirus deaths in 48 hours, confirmed cases rise to 18,666

Ten people have died to Covid-19 infection in the state in the last 48 hours.

According to the reports, six people died due to the deadly virus on Tuesday while four others including an Associate Professor of Guwahati Medical College Hospital died on Monday.

The state death toll for Covid-19 has now gone up to 46.

On the other hand, the state has registered 859 positive cases for the novel coronavirus in last 24 hours and out of these, 627 cases have been detected in Guwahati city.

With the new cases, the state tally for Covid-19 has increased to 18,666.

Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, “859 new #COVID19 ve+ patients in Assam, 627 in Guwahati alone. Take care & precautions. Total cases 18666, Recovered 12173, Active cases 6444, Deaths 46.”

On the other hand, the state has so far conducted the testing of 5,75,867 samples for Covid-19 at 13 laboratories and ward screening centers.
