Assam Congress leader found hanging near cremation ground in Guwahati

A senior leader of Assam Congress, Raju Prasad Sarma was found hanging at the office of a cremation ground in Guwahati on Tuesday.

According to reports, 65-year-old Sharma was found hanging by a wall beside the cremation ground.

Police further said the initial probe suggested that the leader died by suicide. However, all the angles are being looked into the death of Raju Prasad Sarma.

Sarma was unmarried and a deeply religious person. He would frequently visit cremation grounds and meditate there, said sources in Congress party.
