Assam Police Arrested 5 and Seized Yaba tablets worth ₹60 crore

The Assam police have seized Yaba tablets worth more than ₹60 crore near Mizoram border in Cachar district and arrested five persons including a Meghalaya resident, officials said.

Cachar’s superintendent of police (SP) Numal Mahatta said that the vehicle carrying over two lakh Yaba tablets was coming from Mizoram’s Chapai district.

“Four persons including a Meghalaya resident were carrying the contraband from Mizoram’s Champhai district. One local resident received them here in Dholai. All of them have been arrested,” he said.

The arrested persons have been identified as Chandan Dalu (38), Medhiraj Hazong (30), Rajdeep Paul (30) and Bahduh Warbhalang(19). Chandan, Medhiraj and Rajdeep are residents of Kamrup’s Boko area while Bahduh is a resident of Meghalaya’s Thangsalai area, according to the police. They said that one name is not revealed due to some official reasons.
