Assam to give scooties to over 22,000 girl students who secured first division in Class 12 exams
GUWAHATI: Assam government has announced to provide scooties to over 22,000 girl students who secured first division in the class 12 exams.
Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that two-wheeler will be provided to the students by October.
“Scooty will cost around Rs 50,000 to Rs 55,000. We will start providing Scooty by October 15. Students will have a choice to opt for electric Scooty. The students will have to bear the cost of registration and the same cannot be sold for three years,” he said.
The BJP led government has also started Provincialistion of the school and colleges. Over 3980 teachers jobs will be regularised.
Sarma said around 6000 to 7000 teachers in primary and middle schools will get jobs. “This process will start from August 27 onwards”.
State government has asked the colleges of the state to increase the seats and earmark at least 25 percent of the increased seats for students of the state board.
Sarma said as a prelude to opening of the educational institutions all the teachers and staff will undergo mandatory COVID-19 tests from August 21 to 30.
“All the teachers will be present in their work place from September 1 onwards. Once cleared by the government of India educational institutions will start functioning,” the minister added.
