Himanta launches a campaign in Assam to plant one crore saplings

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the Assam government will plant 8 crore seedlings next year and another 10 crore saplings in 2025, hoping to set a new world record by planting one crore saplings on Sunday in the state.

He claims that the ‘Amrit Brikshya Andolan’ will increase green cover while also boosting the local economy because commercial trees will be planted in large numbers during the exercises.
