If karma strikes Rahul Gandhi back, what’s our fault: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha has nothing to do with politics and was because of the judicial decision. On being asked whether the suspension means that Rahul Gandhi’s political career is over, Himanta said, “No no, you are an opposition leader. You do rallies, meetings, Bharat Jodo Yatra, you go to the high court, Supreme Court, but don’t insult a community. It is not right.”

“If you are not happy with the decision of the judiciary, then go to higher courts. And as far as the matter of disqualification is concerned, Rahul Gandhi himself tore the ordinance that could have saved him from immediate disqualification. If karma strikes him back, then what’s our fault in that? In the Hindu religion, we believe in karma. When Dr Singh was the PM, he brought the ordinance.
