Madrassa Co-ordination Committee demands revocation of Government decision
NN Bureau, 17th February: The Madrassa co-ordination committee of Assam has demanded immediate revocation of government’s decision to ban Madrassas along with Sanskrit Tols in Assam. Today, talking to media persons in Guwahati Press Club, leaders of the committee have said that in Assam, Madrassa education system has already been modernized and it can be pushed for further modernization; but blanket ban is unacceptable. They also said that Madrassa education system is a continuous traditional system and hence it will not be practical to ban it. So they would go to Education Minister to express their grievances.
