Meghalaya Police question FKJGP leader connection with Shillong violence

The police on Wednesday questioned Federation of Khasi Jaintia Garo People (FKJGP) senior vice president Elton Cliff Warjri for two hours in connection with last week’s violence during a public rally against unemployment in Shillong.

He was asked to appear before the Sadar police station at 11 am but the questioning started at around 12.30 after the arrival of the Investigating Officer. It continued till 2.30 pm.

Earlier, two FIRs were lodged – one with the Sadar police station and the other with the Laitumkhrah police station – under various Sections of the IPC in connection with the violence.
