Meghalaya Vivanta yet to open its doors to welcome guests

Almost two weeks after its grand inauguration, the state’s first five-star hotel — Vivanta Meghalaya — is yet to open its doors to welcome guests.

A day after its inauguration, photos of the stained rear area of the building had gone viral on social media, causing much embarrassment for the government.

The source said workers were engaged to paint the first floor and the rear part of the hotel and is expected to be completed by November 10.
