On the eve of Mahashivratri

NN Bureau, 20th February: Tomorrow is the day of MahaShivratri. Shivratri is the memorial festival of incarnation of incorporeal Lord Shiva. Shivratri Mahotsav is celebrated every year in entire India with much gaiety. On that day devotees visit temples of Lord Shiva to offer leaves of belpatra, thorn apple, cannabis etc. upon the shivalinga, observe fast and keep awake all night as a mark of their devotion to God Shiva. Some consume intoxicating substance considering it the favor of Lord Shiva.
