Total Lockdown in Assam

N N Bureau , 23 March : The government of Assam has at last decided to impose total Lockdown in entire state. This Lockdown will come to force from 6 pm tomorrow . State health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma , announcing this step clarifies that Lockdown never mean a BANDH.

He also assured that even during Lockdown period, essential services will remain active . Medicine and grocery shops will remain open and people will be allowed to go for collecting their necessary items . But unnecessary loitering and public gatherings will be strictly prohibited . Meanwhile health minister Dr. Sarma today visited Barpeta medical college and took stock of the situation .
