Turkish president Recep Tayyip meets NATO chief in Istanbul
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Istanbul on Friday, discussing issues including finalizing Finland and Sweden’s NATO membership, the Anadolu News Agency reported.
In a tweet following the meeting, Stoltenberg praised Türkiye’s role in the resumption of the Black Sea grain deal and said the meeting would “make our Alliance stronger.”
On Thursday, the NATO secretary general kicked off a three-day visit in Türkiye, focusing on the extension of the Istanbul grain deal and the NATO membership bids of Sweden and Finland.
