Youth Arrested for Eloping with Minor Girl in Pragjyotishpur

Pragjyotishpur Police have apprehended a youth, Debabrat Sarkar, aged 25, for eloping with a 15-year-old girl from the Chandrapur locality of the city. Sarkar, hailing from Cooch Behar, had absconded with the minor girl from Govardhan, falling under the jurisdiction of Pragjyotishpur Police Station, approximately a month ago. Following a complaint filed by the minor’s father, the local police registered a case under Section 366 of the IPC.

After conducting an investigation, the police traced the duo to Cooch Behar and successfully rescued the girl, leading to the arrest of the youth.
