Tender Process for Biomedical Waste Treatment Facility at Silchar Medical College Begins
The Assam government is preparing to launch a tender process for a new Common Biomedical Waste Treatment Facility (CBWTF) at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH). The project, with a budget of Rs. 2 crores, will serve a 75 km radius in Barak Valley. The Pollution Control Board of Assam (PCBA) has reviewed the Detailed Project Report (DPR), and once approved, tenders will be invited. The facility, capable of disposing of 200 liters of biomedical waste per hour, aims to improve waste management in the region.
