Assam to Get Third Taj Hotel Near TATA Semiconductor Plant

Assam will soon have its third Taj Hotel near the upcoming TATA semiconductor plant in Jagiroad, as announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The Assam cabinet has approved leasing 6 acres of land from the defunct Nagaon Paper Mill to Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) for 60 years. This move aims to boost hospitality for visiting officials and promote local development. The Nagaon Paper Mill, closed since 2017, is currently undergoing liquidation, with the Assam government taking over its assets in 2022.
