Assam Records Over 1 Crore Tourist Footfalls in 2023-24

Assam achieved a major tourism milestone with over 1 crore tourist footfalls in 2023-24, announced Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on World Tourism Day. This surpasses last year’s record of 98.31 lakh tourists. Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah highlighted a rise in foreign visitors, increasing from 6,000 to 42,000. Celebrations included events at Kaziranga and Manas National Parks, with a cycle rally promoting cleanliness at Kaziranga.
