Vigilance Cell Raids Sivasagar Zila Parishad CEO’s Residence

The Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell conducted surprise raids on the residences of Sivasagar Zila Parishad CEO Aswini Kumar Doley in Sivasagar, Guwahati, and Dhemaji, probing allegations of disproportionate assets. The nearly seven-hour raid, linked to the Prevention of Corruption Act, created a stir. Doley, a cultural figure and brother of ex-Congress MLA Sumitra Patir, was reportedly eyeing an Assembly election run. Opposition leader Debabrata Saikia called the raid politically motivated.
