GIS & Remote Sensing Training Begins at Dimoria College
A 10-day training on GIS and remote sensing, jointly organized by Cotton University’s Centre for Clouds and Climate Change Research (CCCCR) and NECTAR, Shillong, began at Dimoria College.
Inaugurated by Cotton University VC Prof. R.C. Deka, the program aims to equip students and professionals with practical skills in geospatial technologies. NECTAR DG Dr. Arun Sharma highlighted the importance of GIS in climate monitoring, disaster management, and urban planning. Experts emphasized the growing role of geospatial intelligence in governance and environmental sustainability. Participants will gain hands-on experience with industry tools like ArcGIS and Q-GIS.
