50,000 Northeast Youth to Get Maritime Jobs: Sonowal

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced plans to employ 50,000 Northeast youth in the maritime sector over 10 years. A maritime training institute is being set up in Dibrugarh. He also revealed plans for four Brahmaputra lighthouses, 85 community jetties, and water metro projects in Guwahati, Dibrugarh, and Tezpur. Germany’s Rhenus Logistics confirmed the viability of Indian rivers for ship movement.
