Three Assam Leaders Join Congress Ahead of 2026 Assembly Election

Ahead of the 2026 Assam Assembly polls, three prominent leaders—ex-MLAs Binanda Saikia, Satyabrat Kalita, and Dr. Mansing Rongpi—quit BJP-AGP and joined the Congress in New Delhi. APCC president Gaurav Gogoi termed their entry a setback for the ruling BJP-AGP, alleging public discontent with CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s government.
