Cachar Police Crack Down on Fake Doctors, Two Arrested

In a swift crackdown on fraudulent medical practices, Cachar police arrested two individuals within 24 hours for impersonating doctors and illegally treating patients. Acting on complaints by Dr. Abhijit Neog, Anti-Quackery and Vigilance Officer of ACMR, police nabbed Pankaj Chaudhary of Silchar for posing as a specialist with forged degrees and registration, and Subhir Choudhury of Kalain for treating patients inside a pharmacy without valid medical qualifications. Cases have been registered under multiple provisions of the National Medical Commission Act and Assam Medical Council Act, and further investigations are underway.
