AJP Slams BJP Over Unfulfilled Promises Ahead of PM Modi’s Assam Visit

Ahead of PM Modi’s Assam visit, AJP president Lurinjyoti Gogoi accused the BJP of betraying Assam on key promises, including full Assam Accord implementation, ST status for six indigenous communities, and upliftment of tea workers. Gogoi criticised the Citizenship Amendment Act, the new Immigration Order 2025, and the government’s inaction on illegal immigration. He alleged the BJP has buried the Justice Biplab Kumar Sharma Committee report and failed to address the socio-economic plight of tea garden labourers.
