GMC Fines Lokhra Business ₹1 Lakh for Operating Without Licence

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh on a business in the Lokhra area under Ward No. 23 for operating without a valid trade licence.

GMC said the action is part of its enforcement drive to curb unauthorised commercial activities and ensure compliance with municipal norms. The civic body reiterated a zero-tolerance policy and warned of similar कार्रवाई across Guwahati, urging all businesses to obtain and renew mandatory licences.
