Assam Finance Commission Flags Fiscal Risks from Orunodoi, NFSA Schemes

The Seventh Assam State Finance Commission has warned that the Orunodoi and NFSA schemes could severely strain the State’s finances due to their massive annual cost. The commission estimated a combined financial burden of over ₹10,860 crore annually, citing lack of clarity on funding mechanisms.
