Congress Calls for Flexible Seat-Sharing, Talks Near Final Stage

The Congress has urged its prospective alliance partners to show flexibility and a spirit of sacrifice in seat-sharing talks, admitting it lacks the numbers to influence the Rajya Sabha elections on its own. APCC president Gaurav Gogoi said discussions are in their final stage and stressed that rigid demands could weaken Opposition unity. He reiterated that the Congress has no alliance or talks with AIUDF regarding Assembly or Rajya Sabha polls. The high-level meeting in New Delhi reviewed differences and aimed to evolve a united strategy, though no final agreement was announced.
