Residents Protest Delay in Jorhat–Malou Ali Road Construction

Residents of Teok constituency have expressed concern over the slow progress of the Jorhat–Malou Ali connecting road, which has remained incomplete for nearly three years. The 950-metre road, located about 2 km from Jorhat town, is an important route for commuters in the area.
Members of Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad said around 30% of the road work is still unfinished, causing difficulties for vehicles and pedestrians, especially during the monsoon.
Locals warned that if the road is not completed before the Assam Legislative Assembly Election 2026, they may launch protests against the authorities and local representatives.
