Assam Cabinet Approves Rs. 292 Crore Development Plan for Morigaon

In its first outstation meeting of the year, the Assam cabinet approved development projects worth Rs. 292 crore for Morigaon district. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma outlined several key initiatives, including the establishment of a 1,000 bigha industrial plant, pending local approval.

Other significant projects include Rs. 70 crore for a road connecting Balimukh to Sidubhi, Rs. 55 crore for a new drainage system in Morigaon town, and Rs. 15 crore for a new circuit house. The cabinet also allocated funds for cultural and educational development, including Rs. 20 crore for an auditorium, Rs. 8 crore for schools, and Rs. 5 crore for colleges.

Additionally, grants were approved for sports infrastructure, guest houses, and a memorial for Ilaram Das Baap. Sarma confirmed the next cabinet meeting will be in Nagaon.
