Assam CM Highlights Affordable Cancer Care Centres on National Cancer Awareness Day

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the establishment of high-quality cancer care centres providing affordable treatment through the Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF). On National Cancer Awareness Day, Sarma emphasized advancements in cancer treatment and recovery chances. The state is investing Rs 135 crore to build four cancer hospitals, with 10 hospitals planned in total. Sarma also inaugurated a cancer care unit at Silchar Medical College, part of a network of 17 hospitals in collaboration with Tata Trusts. Over 2.15 lakh patients have been treated so far.
