Biswanath Seals Two Rehab Centres, Orders Probe into Abuse Allegations

The Biswanath district administration has sealed the Live Well and Pratigya de-addiction centres following allegations of physical abuse and medical negligence. An inquiry has been launched, with a report expected within seven days.

The action follows the escape of 34 inmates from the Live Well Rehabilitation Centre after videos allegedly showing abuse sparked public outrage. Authorities have begun relocating inmates to recognised rehabilitation facilities. Two persons have been arrested in connection with the case, while two others remain absconding.
