Gauhati HC Seeks SOP on Tree Translocation for GNB Flyover

The Gauhati High Court has asked the Assam government to submit its SOP on tree translocation or felling for construction, amid concerns over the GNB Road flyover project. The court emphasized ecological balance and was assured by the Advocate General that alignment changes would avoid tree cutting near Dighalipukhuri. Of 77 identified trees, 76 were translocated and reportedly survived. The court awaits an affidavit with the SOP and certification on tree preservation.
