Nationwide Strike on May 20 Over Labour Reforms and Economic Policies

Central trade unions, employee associations, and Samyukt Kisan Morcha have called a nationwide strike on May 20. Assam will participate actively, as announced at a joint convention in Guwahati. The protest targets the Centre’s labour reforms, new labour codes, and economic policies, which unions say erode workers’ rights, dilute welfare laws, and worsen the agrarian crisis.
