NFR Boosts Train Speed by Removing Permanent Restrictions
The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has removed 10 Permanent Speed Restrictions (PSRs) as of December 2024 to enhance train speed and punctuality.
Engineering upgrades, including track geometry adjustments, bridge leveling, and curvature reduction, have enabled smoother operations. Speeds on loop lines have also increased.
Additionally, NFR is addressing 44 Temporary Speed Restrictions (TSRs) through comprehensive track renewal, bridge strengthening, and signaling upgrades. These efforts aim to ensure safe, faster, and reliable rail travel across the region.
