Protest Over Uprooting of Tea Bushes at Lepetkata Tea Estate

Workers of Lepetkata Tea Estate, supported by ATTSA, protested against the uprooting of tea bushes in the Bolai division. The estate, owned by Luxmi Tea Company, reportedly cleared 300 bighas for industrial development and tea tourism, including a five-star hotel.

ATTSA leaders condemned the move, citing threats to workers’ livelihoods and community stability, and demanded immediate replantation of tea saplings, warning of intensified protests otherwise.
