Tight Security Arrangements in Place for Vote Counting in Assam

Security arrangements have been fully prepared for vote counting on May 4 in Assam, according to Director General of Police Harmeet Singh.

He said Central Armed Police Forces have been deployed inside counting halls, while State Armed Police personnel are guarding the outer areas and strong rooms. Senior officials recently reviewed the security situation through a video conference.

The DGP said police are not expecting any major disturbance but warned that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to create trouble during or after the counting process.
