108 Ambulance Staff Continue Protest Seeking Service Regularisation

Employees of Assam’s 108 ambulance service continued their sit-in protest in Chachal, demanding regularisation of nearly 3,000 workers, fair wages, and overtime pay. The strike has disrupted emergency services, though EMRI Green Health Services says temporary staff and support teams are keeping operations running.

EMRI stated the demands involve government policy and urged employees to return to work, warning that prolonged absence may affect reinstatement. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the government will hold talks only after the protest is withdrawn.
