22,000 Bighas Cleared of Encroachment in Orang National Park

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that 22,000 bighas of forest land in Orang National Park have been freed from encroachment. The park now connects directly with Kaziranga and Burha-Chapori Wildlife Sanctuary, forming a 180-km-long protected habitat. This move boosts Assam’s biodiversity and strengthens wildlife conservation. Environment Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary lauded the CM’s leadership in this achievement. The park reopened for tourists on October 1.
