50 Acres of Illegal Poppy Cultivation Destroyed in Manipur

Manipur authorities destroyed 50 acres of illegal poppy cultivation and four huts in Mullam Kuki village, Ukhrul district. Chief Minister N Biren Singh praised the combined efforts of the police, Army, and Forest Department in the operation under the “War on Drugs” campaign. An FIR has been registered, and investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible. Singh emphasized the state’s commitment to eradicating drug-related activities and restoring Manipur’s dignity. Earlier, 70 acres and 55 acres of poppy fields were destroyed in December 2024.
