77th Asam Sahitya Sabha Session Concludes with Emphasis on Assamese Language and Culture
The 77th session of the Asam Sahitya Sabha concluded on Tuesday after five days at Bhattadev Kshetra, Pathshala. A conference of indigenous students and youth marked the final day.
AASU President Utpal Sarma emphasized the Sabha’s role as Assam’s guardian and stressed the need for preserving Assamese language and culture. He highlighted that major organizations like the Asam Sahitya Sabha and AASU are crucial but often scrutinized in times of crisis. He urged the immediate implementation of Clause 6 of the Assam Accord.
AJYCP President Palash Sangmai called for reviving Assam’s lost glory and strengthening unity among ethnic groups. The session, presided over by Dr. Girish Handique, saw participation from various student union leaders.
