Eminent Journalists Honored with RN Borooah and Protiva Borooah Awards

The recipients of the prestigious RN Borooah and Protiva Borooah Awards for the years 2021 and 2022 were announced by Awards Committee Convenor Prasanta J Baruah. Veteran journalist and Editor of Prantik magazine, Pradip Baruah, will be honored with the RN Borooah and Protiva Borooah Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award in Journalism. Jitendra Kumar Choudhury of Dainik Asam will receive the RN Borooah Memorial Award for reporting on environment, tourism, and conservation, while Utpal Deka from Tamulpur will be conferred with the Protiva Borooah Memorial Award for contributing to the well-being of the poor and needy. The awards, carrying a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 each and a citation, will be presented at a ceremony on February 29 at Vivekananda Kendra in Uzan Bazar, featuring distinguished personalities like Animal Rights Activist Parbati Barua and HR expert Gautam Prasad Baroowah.
