Voter Bribery Scandal Rocks Chirang, Assam

In a shocking development just before the third phase of the Lok Sabha election in Chirang, Assam, a case of voter bribery has emerged. A man and a woman were caught distributing money to voters in Garubhasha under Sidli Police Station. Alert citizens intervened, leading to their arrest. Authorities seized Rs 37,500 in cash and a motorcycle used in the illegal transactions. The suspects, identified as Florence Islari and Vijay Mushahary, held positions within the UPPL party. The incident has sparked outrage, with Shuddh Basumatary, BPF central vice president, condemning UPPL’s involvement and emphasizing the importance of preserving the integrity of elections.
