Woman Robbed of Rs. 5 Lakhs by Lover in Assam Deception Case

A woman in Digboi, Assam, was duped of Rs. 5 lakhs by her lover, Ram Tati, who promised marriage but eloped with someone else. The victim, who had been in a 10-year relationship with the accused, underwent abortions twice after physical relations with him. She approached the police after being assaulted by the accused’s sister, with the help of Village Defence Party (VDP) women. The accused allegedly coerced money from the victim’s parents under false pretenses of building a house.
