Forest Officials Reclaim Encroached Land in Marakdola Reserve Forest

Forest officials from the Marakdola Forest Beat office, along with Sonapur Forest Range staff, reclaimed 65 bighas of land in the Marakdola Reserve Forest following a tip-off about fresh encroachment. During a patrol, they discovered two newly constructed bamboo houses on the land and promptly dismantled them.

Jayanta Kalita, Beat Officer of Marakdola Forest Beat, stated that the reclaimed land will be closely monitored to prevent further illegal activities. He urged the public to report any suspicious activities to aid in protecting and conserving the forest. Investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for the encroachment. The forest department calls on local communities to support their efforts by staying vigilant.
