In a significant breakthrough, Barpeta police have arrested Rituparna Pathak, chairman of Shraddha Surabhi Nidhi Limited, on charges of fraud. Customers reported delays in their Monthly Income Scheme (MIS) payments, contradicting the firm’s promises. Allegations also surfaced of the firm offering varying profit percentages to different individuals, raising suspicions of unfair practices. Complaints about financial irregularities grew from February, prompting numerous customers to file police reports. Following an investigation, Barpeta police detained Pathak.
