Rahul Gandhi Visits Relief Camp in Assam Amid Tensions in Manipur

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, visited Silchar on Monday before heading to Manipur. In Lakhipur, Cachar district, he visited a relief camp at Thalai-In to meet with displaced individuals from Manipur. During his visit, Gandhi interacted with the camp residents and listened to their grievances. This marks his first visit to the Northeast since the Lok Sabha election. Notably, a firing incident occurred in Manipur’s Jiribam district near Phaitol village early Monday, ahead of Gandhi’s visit.
