Patwari and Sub Inspector Nabbed in Assam Bribery Scandal

A Vigilance and Anti-Corruption team arrested Patwari Nurul Hoque Barbhuiya in Silchar for accepting a bribe. A raid at his residence in Sonai, Cachar district, led to the recovery of Rs. 10,90,000. Earlier, Sub Inspector Fazail Haque of Fakirganj police station in Dhubri district was also arrested on bribery charges. The anti-corruption team had raided the police station following allegations of Haque’s prolonged bribe demands.
