Assam CM Unveils Rs 1,200 Crore Elevated Corridor Project in Silchar

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a 7-km elevated corridor project in Silchar, estimated to cost Rs 1,200 crores. The project, aimed at easing traffic and improving connectivity, will be completed in two phases over 2-3 years. Sarma emphasized the challenges and sought public cooperation, with efforts to minimize disruption, including relocating light wires underground. During his visit, Sarma also inaugurated a 20-bed Intensive Coronary Care Unit at Silchar Medical College and urged the legal community to expedite cases related to crimes against women.
