AASAA Delegation Urges MP Gaurav Gogoi to Champion Adivasi Rights in Parliament

A delegation from the All Adivasi Students’ Association of Assam (AASAA) met with Jorhat MP Gaurav Gogoi on Wednesday, urging him to advocate for Adivasi rights in Parliament. The group submitted a memorandum requesting the MP to raise issues such as granting ST status, securing land rights, increasing tea garden workers’ wages to ₹550, and issuing caste certificates to various Adivasi communities in Assam. The delegation also highlighted the pending Scheduled Tribes (Amendment) Bill, 2019.
