Northeast Frontier Railway Sees Significant Growth in Automobile Freight Operations

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has reported remarkable growth in automobile unloading operations across its freight terminals in Katihar, Alipurduar, Rangiya, and Lumding divisions. In FY 2024-25 (up to August), 315 rakes were unloaded, reflecting a strong demand for rail transportation. This marks a 22% increase in unloaded rakes from FY 2022-23 to FY 2023-24. NFR’s improved infrastructure and efficiency have supported this surge, highlighting its role in boosting regional trade and the economy.
