38 Candidates Enter Assam By-Election Race

A total of 38 candidates have filed nominations for the November 13 by-election to five Assam Legislative Assembly seats. The constituencies are Dholai, Sidli, Bongaigaon, Behali, and Samaguri. Scrutiny is set for October 28, with the last date for withdrawal on October 30. Polling will occur on November 13, and vote counting on November 23.

The BJP, AGP, UPPL, Congress, CPI(ML) Liberation, and AAP are contesting across these seats. The by-election follows the election of five MLAs to the Lok Sabha in 2024.
