GMCH Promotes Aadhaar for Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID Registration

Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) encourages patients to carry their Aadhaar card to create an Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID. This initiative supports the government’s goal to digitize health services and improve care continuity. ABHA IDs allow doctors to access patient records quickly, enhancing treatment across healthcare facilities. GMCH aims to register 1,600 patients daily but faces challenges as many arrive without Aadhaar. The hospital provides on-site assistance for ABHA enrollment and assures that care will not be denied to those without Aadhaar.
